H&L Dentistry offers the latest radiology technologies in dentistry to better serve our patients and our community. Dental cone beam computerized tomography (also known as CBCT) is a type of x-ray equipment that can produce 3D images of teeth, soft tissues,  nerve pathways, and bone using very low levels of radiation. 

CBCT scans are more detailed and effective than standard x-rays and they also use less radiation and require fewer scans to see different views and angles of the mouth.
The scanner moves around the head in a circle, and each scan takes less than a minute. However, more than one scan may be needed.  The American Dental Association (ADA) and the FDA recommend that clinicians only perform dental X-ray examinations, including dental CBCT, when necessary for diagnosis or treatment of disease.
