Dental Crowns • Durham
At H&L Dentistry our goal is to provide dentistry with the most natural appearance. We replace existing dental crowns and “fillings” with restorations that look and feel like your natural teeth. When damage to a person’s teeth is extreme, and apparently beyond repair, we can use crowns to make the smile appear “as new.” This is an extremely reliable technique for repairing the most severe of dental problems, even permanently replacing missing teeth to offer a complete smile and a functional bite. These treatments are used for a long-lasting correction of major dental problems. It is usual for these treatments to last for years.

How long does a dental crown procedure take?
A dental crown procedure requires at least two visits to our office. At the first appointment the tooth is prepared for a crown and an impression is made with either a digital scan or with impression material when indicated. The tooth is then restored with a provisional crown while your crown is fabricated by a certified dental laboratory. At a subsequent appointment, the definitive crown will be permanently cemented or bonded to your tooth.

A dental crown can prevent a root canal-treated tooth from fracturing, hence, it aids in the long-term prognosis of the tooth.
